Hello Ladies...
I'm sorry it has taken so long for us to write. We haven't written for awhile... :) Sorry about that. Well, my finger is recovering quite nicely... which has been a huge blessing.
On Sunday, we had to go home right after church, and take care of Shredder! He's quite the little thing! He's so very naughty, and darling! :) Hehe! A good combo! Anyway, we have been busy with him... :) Oh, but we did stop at a store, and we saw 2 people we recognized! It was hilarious!
On Monday, we didn't do much, just normal... and then on Tuesday, we went to Spokane and had some music lessons up there.
Then yesterday (Wednesday) we had piano lessons! I took some butterfly pictures (over 200... I know!), and I only got a few that were good. :( :) Oh well! And then today, Mom and Amanda are going to the dentist! So, they will have a day in town. And the rest of us get to stay home and watch the children, Shredder, and everything else!
We would love comments, anything is wonderful!
Love,
~Emily

Scary Experiences!
Hello Ladies,
My my my... tonight has been pretty scary for me. Well, to start off... while making dinner, I was cutting open a stubborn canned pineapple can. When I was reaching underneath the lid to pull it up, my 2nd finger got stuck. I pulled, and it wouldn't come out... I yanked, and it came out... very bloody. It was very scary. It bled for a long time. Well... that was scary.
And then, tonight, Mom, Dani, and Amanda were gone in Latah. Greg, and the 4 little ones and I were all home alone. During that time, our goat, Ladybug got out of our cage. We brought our new little dog, Shredder (this was after everyone was in bed.... so it was ALL dark!) outside with us. Well, we found Ladybug, caught her, put her in the pen, then Greg said, "Where's Shredder?" We called and called and called. I was frantic, my finger started a new bleeding, and Hannah was crying. I was SO scared we would have to tell everyone that Shredder was gone when they got home. We searched for 10 minutes... with nothing. I heard a faint whining. I ran to the sound... at our front door. He had gone to the front door and was whining. I was SO thankful to the LORD!! Thank you, LORD!!
A few minutes later, Dani, Mom and Amanda came home... Shredder, safe in the house!
Anyway... those have been my scary experiences for the day! May the LORD bless you all!
Love,
~Emily

Serving our Fathers
Hello, friends!
How are you all today? I hope you are all doing well!
I just wanted to share something that has become very important to me lately! It is the issue of serving our fathers in our homes. I think it is such an important thing to learn to do, so that we are prepared to serve our husbands in the future! So many times I wonder how I can help my dad, and what would really bless him. I recently talked to a young lady that is newly married, and asked her some ways that she would suggest serving my father. She said that being cheerful is a big thing! It is so important to smile and have a joyful countenance about us even when things are hard! So, that is one thing. Another thing that she said is that keeping the house clean is a blessing to our fathers! Even though it sounds small, it really will bless our fathers to come home to a clean home! :)
I recently found a way that I can serve my dad, and I am excited about it! He has been wanting homemade bread, but it really hasn't gotten done much lately, sadly! :) I just realized last week that maybe that is a way to serve dad, by making bread every week, so that he doesn't have to buy it from the store. It seems like a small thing, but I was so excited that I finally found a way that I can bless Dad!
I thought I would share the bread recipe that we use (thanks to a friend of Mom's!) and some pictures of me making it! :) (thank you to my dear, sweet, patient sister Emily for bearing with me when I kept asking her to take pictures! :) It is a very nice bread- it slices very well without crumbling, toasts well, rises well, and is delicious!! :) Here it is:
Ingredients:
2/3 cup honey
2/3 cup olive oil
6 cups warm water
4 Tablespoons yeast
1 1/2 Tablespoons salt
16-20 cups whole wheat flour
3 Tablespoons gluten/dough enhancer (optional)
1/2-cup to 1 cup old fashioned oats
Sprouted grain (optional)
Mix 2 cups water, yeast and 2 cups flour. Let sponge (sit without doing anything to it :) 15 minutes. Then add 4 cups warm water, oil, honey, oats, salt, and sprouted grain, if desired. Mix in flour till dough is like elastic, and doesn't stick to your hands (pour onto a floured surface when it isn't so runny it will slide off the counter :). Let rise for an hour, or until doubled. Punch down, then let rise again. Punch down again, and shape and put into 5-6 well greased loaf pans. Let rise once more for 30-60 minutes. Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes. Enjoy!
The dough sponging
Adding honey
Oats... yum! :)
Kneading
The dough when finished kneading
What it looks like before it has risen
After rising
Punching the dough down is probably my favorite part, other than eating the bread! :)
After it has been cut into six even pieces (hmmm... it doesn't quite look even! :)
I don't like this picture of me... It kind of looks like I don't have any hair, and my smile looks forced. :) Oh well... :)
We got the nice, shiny loaf pans from Azure! They work great, and are aluminum free!
After the bread rose in the pans
The finished product!
Make sure to grease the pans REALLY well with butter, or else it the bread sticks to the bottom, and this is what happens. :(
How are you all today? I hope you are all doing well!

Cutsie Pictures of Leah
Tonight! :)
Hello Ladies,
Tonight we have been busy for Dinner making.I am learning to cook and sew. So that I can learn to cook and sew for my own home Dani put on the Blog pictures of Dani and I. We were making Homemade waffles. We have a Waffle maker. Mom made Dani's Apron Mom made me one and Rebekah one matching. But that wasn't the one. So also tonight we milked our goats. I cool the milk. We get about a full jar and a little bit of a little jar. So Sam watched me cool it and Sam and Rebekah helped me take the jars out to our addition. We have a fridge at the end and there are two rooms. And a door that goes to our garage. And when you come in the door there is a shoe rack. And a place where we put mittens, gloves, hats and scarves.
My Dad just came home and I better go.
Love in Christ,
Hannah

Dearest Ladies,
I wanted to share a few things here of what the LORD has been teaching me in my morning devotions, and I am going to quote a few things and add my own comments. But I feel it is important to share the things that encourage me, so that perhaps the LORD can use it to glorify His name! :)
At the moment, I am reading in Acts, 2 Chronicles, and 2 devotion books, Pearls of Great Price, and Know What You Believe. I am learning quite a bit from those books, and it is very exciting to find a nugget to chew on each morning, and to think about during the day.
I love how, in Acts, that Paul is so bold continually shared the gospel with so many people all the years of his life. He was not afraid of what men could do to him, whether it was beatings, being imprisoned, or even put to death. His faith in the LORD was so important to him, that he did not care what happened to his body. The LORD was first in his life, not his own desires or pleasures. Paul was HAPPY and REJOICED to be able to suffer a little for the cause of Christ (Acts 16:25). I want to have that be said of me; that I was not afraid of men, but that I was SO much more consumed in the LORD that nothing else mattered but the glorifying of Christ and what I could do for Him.
I was very encouraged a couple Sunday's ago, when our teacher (or pastor; I don't know quite what to call him, since we go to such a small church. He is basically our teacher every Sunday, just like a pastor, but he doesn't call himself that) got up and spoke on exactly the SAME passage I read in my devotion, Pearls of Great Price !!! I read about in John when the LORD says "I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing." John 15:5. In this devotion, Joni Eareckson Tada talks about letting the LORD graft in your life; to let Him grow and work through your life. I was impacted that morning and was dwelling on that truth. Then when I got to church and he started talking about this passage and teaching how the LORD wants us as His children to be sensitive to His pruning and to let Him do His work in our lives. We can not hold back any part of our flesh if the LORD wants to prune that out. Be sensitive to His leading and His changes in your life. I was so excited to hear this twice, and when things are repeated like that for me, I really feel like it is some thing the LORD wants me to pay attention to! Even when it hurts, don't hold on, but lean on Christ, who is our comfort and peace. Joni says here " In affliction and suffering, our hearts are pressed into his. And the life of God flows into us, wound to wound. In those times of brokenness, remember that Christ, the result is life, lie and more life."
I also like this quote from Paul E. Little's book I Know What You Believe. He says here on page 61, "From the very beginning of creation His desire is to have a relationship with those whom He created. Reconciliation, ransom, and sacrifice are all the result of God's unceasing desire to bring each one of us close to Himself". It is SO comforting to know that the LORD has a reason and an answer for each trial and each hurt in our lives, and most of the time, they are to bring us closer to Him and let us know that we, in our own human nature, cannot lean on our own understanding, because we are weak and nothing compared to God. So He shows us that we NEED Him to live a fulfilled and peaceful joy-filled life. I want to be abiding in Christ and experience all the blessings the LORD wants to pour on me, so I want to commit fully to the LORD the life He gave me, so that He can use me in what EVER way He planned in His book for me.
Anyways, those things were encouraging to me, and brought me excitement, things to think about and ways I can praise the LORD. I encourage you to dig into the Word of God. It is the HOLY LORD who is wanting to speak to us if we are willing to listen. I don't want to be guilty of taking the Bible for granted, but to really understand that it is the WRITTEN WORD OF GOD!!!!!! It is exciting to grow in the LORD, and I will pray for you all!
May the LORD be with you!
Love through Christ Alone,
~Dani

My Dear Friends,
Greetings in the LORD's name! We ladies have been busy today here at home, and I wanted to let you know what we have been up to. We have been blessed by many things this week, and I want to share some of them with you.
We have some exciting news here! :) Last Saturday after our time at the lake, Dad drove us to a family's home where Mom had called her; this lady had 2 puppies, Mastiff American Bulldog mix pups that were adorable. We have been looking for a guard dog to guard our property and our animals. ;) He is really a cutie, and Dad liked the name Shredder, so we all agreed. :) Here is a picture of him.

This morning, we had a friend over and we quite a bit of the morning, we practiced music with her which she enjoyed doing with us a few weeks ago. We chatted with Jane and her mom, then they had to leave around 12:00.
After lunch, Mom had a project for us 3 girls :). That was cleaning out all four of our freezers, organizing and doing inventory of the food we have stored in them. We have 1 upright huge freezer, 1 chest freezer, and 2 small half freezers for the 2 refrigerators we have. :) So a big job that was, but we were happy to do it together. As we cleaned, wrote the list of food, we talked, sang, and laughed! :) What a fun time we had together as sisters. Hannah took pictures of Amanda, Emily and I working, and we got some funny ideas, which I will show here.

We had taken all our food the LORD blessed us with out of the freezer, and had every thing written down, and we put our list on the floor as we worked on putting every thing back in, and when we looked next, our list was ALL torn up, and the culprit was sitting there, looking as innocent as a guilty dog can. He had fun chewing up all our work! :) So, no big deal, as we put things back into the chest freezer, we just wrote it all down again, but that was not too nice of Shredder! :) He already fits his name! :)

In this next picture, we are holding our own butchered chickens. :) A fun photo Hannah took uf us girls.

I was almost stuck here, :) but having fun, washing out the bottom of the freezer.
Then tonight, I had a special wonderful little sister to help me make waffles for our dinner. :) We had fun cooking together! :)

Hannah LOVES to work in the kitchen, and she's getting to be a good cook. With a little more training, she'll be a super chef in our home! :)
Here, Hannah and I are, having a fun time together in our aprons. I would like to make more, but these are pretty ones.
Well, I pray the LORD may bless you, and I hope you enjoy the pictures. The LORD is good. Don't forget to praise Him today! :)
Love in Christ,
Dani

Update
Hello Everyone!
I'm sorry for not updating a little sooner. Life has been quite busy with new, exciting things! :) First of all, on Saturday, we went to the lake. That was a lot of fun... I didn't jump into the water with the girls until about a 1/2 an hour later... but then they only stayed in two minutes because we were going to have lunch. After that, I was done swimming for the day! I decided to just watch the rest of the time. I took lots of pictures (which I will post!), and that was all quite fun. I had a blast, and so did everyone else, I believe! :)
Here are some pictures from the lake....

~Today~
Hello Ladies,
I hope you are all having a wonderful day. This morning at 8:00, Mom, Greg and Dani left to go to Spokane. Amanda, Dad, all the little ones and I are all here at home today! I made a craft with the children today - a pop-up card. We are going to be posting pictures later today (hopefully!!!!), so I will try and get a picture up of that.
Oh! I forgot! I was going to add a video of the children doing something funny outside. Here it is below!
I hope you enjoy it! So, today, we have been pretty busy with keeping the children out of trouble... which is sometimes hard, but Hannah, our little babysitter likes to play with them, and at the same time is good at keeping them OUT of trouble! :) So, it's REALLY helpful to have Hannah!
We will post pictures soon!
Love,
~Emily

Tonight!!
Dear Laides,
Hi how are you? I am sorry I haven't been keeping up on the blog!!:( I have been playing with the twins, writing a letter, writing emails and doing laundry.
I need to tell you about laundry. We have a clock that has the first name G,D,A,E,and H. There is an arrow And mom will say "Hannah here's your load." or something like that. And we have to do our load by ourselves.(well the twins can help) We fold it and put it away. After we put it away we turn the clock to the next person. If we don't then we have to do the next load. I will send you a picture................
About Tonight:
Our Grandma and Grandpa grew some Raspberry and Blackberry bushes. And my Grandpa cut down the Blackberry bushes. But Emily and I picked some Raspberry's tonight together.
Well Dad is home from work so I better go.
Goodnight.
God bless you ladies,
Love in Christ

Last week...
Dear Ladies,
I am SOOO sorry we haven't updated our blog for a week! I feel really bad about that!
So, I will tell you all about last week!! It was a very fun and exciting week! :) Starting on Sunday...
We went to a family's house for church last week, and the service was outside on the lawn! It was a very nice time of singing, and a few men went up and shared their testimonies. It was very neat! After the service, several of us girls gathered around a very special young lady that is visiting Washington! It was so encouraging to talk to her and get to know her better! It was also encouraging to me, because she included all the younger ones and made them feel special too! That is something I really need to work on... including the younger ones in all the things that I do!! Anyway, after we had a nice talk on the lawn, we got to take several pictures with her, which I am putting up! I hope you enjoy them! :)

On Monday, we had a mysterious cleaning day.... I will have to let Dani finish that story! :) But before I close, I just wanted to share a couple of things that the Lord wants to teach me right now! DO any of you ever find it hard to obey with the right attitude? Well, I do! When I'm asked to do something that I really don't want to do, sometimes I don't obey with a joyful countenance, and I know that that is displeasing to my parents and to the Lord. Another thing that I am trying to work on is patience!!! Wow, that's a big thing! When my younger siblings are grumpy, or things are not going well, I often get impatient. The reason I am sharing these things is because I want to encourage you ladies in working on these things as well, and I would love your prayers for me! Thank you all! It is a humbling experience to share these things, but it is very good practice for me! :)
Well, I am going to let Dani take over and tell about the rest of this last week!!! I love you all!!
May the Lord bless each and every one of you as you continue to grow in Him!!
In Christ,
Amanda
Hello all my dear friends!
I would just like to add to what Amanda said above. This young lady has been very special to me and extremely encouraging in the work the LORD has for us ladies at home. What a blessing she has been to me, and her cheerful and rejoicing spirit is so lovely and pleasing to the LORD; such an encouragement. I had a lovely time visiting with her on Sunday as well!
I shall do my best to write what all happened this last week. I give all praise and glory to the LORD for working all things out according to HIS plans!
Monday: I was having a normal day and I had finished all the normal things. Early that morning, I thought it was just a LITTLE strange :) that Dad really wanted us to vacuum the addition and get it all cleaned REALLY well! So that morning, Em and I were doing that. Then as I was finishing lunch, I was just going to go to our girls' room for a few minutes, (and normally I always do dishes RIGHT after lunch, but I was just waiting a few minutes) Mom called me and asked me to come wash dishes. Also SHE took out the recycling when normally that is Greg's job. I thought that was a little strange. So after cleaning up a little, I went to mom and said "I feel SO good! Look at the house! It's spotless and the addition is the neatest it's ever been! I am SO happy and feel so free" or something like that. Now if you don't know me very well, the LORD put in me a strong desire to keep all things straight and orderly, and if it's not that way, I strive to clean up and make things neat! That's just how I am... I can't handle clutter well. :) Anyways, after that statement, :) I asked Mom if it was ok for us girls to clean our desk, and kind of thinking maybe there would be something to come first, expected another task first. But right away she said yes, so we girls had a wonderful time doing that; making our desk un-cluttered and neat! :) Happy day for me. :) We were getting quite a few phone calls on the cell phone which Mom always answered, so that was kind of different. :) (our phone was not working that day) Mom then told us girls we could go to our room and read or write our letters. So excitedly I sat down in my bed to work on writing my letter to my Dear Bosom Friend, Raquel. After writing for a while (Emily kept going in and out of our bedroom, and I was wondering what was up), the all of a sudden, Mom called "Dani! Come here!" and I jumped out of my bed and answered, "Yes, mom. Is it urgent?" while running out. She said, "Yes!". Now, we had the curtains drawn in the family room at our slider door, which is strange for the middle of the day, but I took little note of that. :) I came out and said, "Yes, what do you want me to do!?!?" and she told me "Go open the slider door!" Hmm... she has never told me to do that before in such a rush, and I was wondering if maybe some Jehovah's witnesses were coming to our back door for some reason and Mom didn't want to answer, so that's what I kind of prepared myself for! :) As SOON as I opened the curtians, I looked out.... and there stood some one I knew... some one very tall and beautiful..."RAQUEL!!!!! YOU'RE HERE!!!" and I swished the door open as fast as I could and ran into her arms, shaking, crying, screaming, not really knowing what was going on! Not believing it was really her, I stood back with my arms still around her, crying and looking at her face!! We went back and forth like that about 7 or 8 times!!! :) Now, I can't really explain all that really well; it was MUCH more real in person, but I was SO in shock and surprised, delighted and overwhelmed with joy at FINALLY seeing my friend whom I only knew from letters, emails and phone calls! We had NEVER met before, and we had only DREAMED of meeting. For the longest time, we had tried to plan ways we could meet, but the LORD never allowed those times to come. He had a better plan for us, a way that I now realize blessed me more than it would have if we had actually met at the airport when we went to Hawaii or something. We would NOT have been able to run into a hug and scream like we did! :) :) :) It is SO neat looking back! The LORD is SO good! Wow! Just remembering last Monday at this is amazing! :) We were outside on our back porch for 10 or so minutes, hugging every one, finally meeting every one and all, then we invited them all in. I took Raquel immediately to our room and we were SO excited! I showed her first where I was JUST writing to her in my bed, then we got out the stuff we had made lists for (months previous!:) out and laughing, hugging. I couldn't BELIEVE this was happening! I pinched myself, and was just a huge excited overwhelmed Dani. :) It's really funny just remembering all this. It is very dear to me, those first few hours together. We offered her and her family some lunch then. I was starting to put those puzzle pieces together then. This is why we had cleaned the house so well, why Mom had taken out the recycling, why we vacuumed the addition (our guest room)!!! :) I had NO idea. Oh, it was funny, when Raquel and I were sitting down, she told me a couple hours later, that her Dad thought I was going to pass out from the scream he heard from behind the tree he and the little girls were hiding behind. (Only Raquel and her Mom were at our back door to start with. Then after meeting, I saw them walking down toward our house. All her family except her brother, who willingly stayed with the animals who needed care so Raquel and the rest could make this trip, came. That day was full of laughter, hugs, kisses, and talking!!!! I was SO amazed and thankful the LORD finally brought us together! It was wonderful, that meeting! Emily, Greg, Dad and Mom were the only ones that knew Raquel and her family were coming! What a surprise for me. That night, after writing in our journals and all, we went to bed. Amanda and Emily in the bottom bunk went to bed at 1:00 and fell asleep pretty quick. Raquel and I had to finish writing and finally got to bed at 1:30, very tired and all... then we got second winds and just started talking. And talking... and talking! :) It was SO fun, we talked until 3:00 AM!!!!!! Never in my life have I stayed up that late! :) When we finally went to sleep, it turns out we only got 3 hours of sleep, because we woke up at 6:45! :)
Sorry if above I'm a bit confusing. I'm trying to be clear, but it's a tiny bit hard with all that went on! :) To say in short, it was one of the Biggest surprises I've EVER had in my life, and I was extremely Happy!!!! I love you, Raquel Dear!!!!!!! :)
Tuesday: We got up and read our Bibles and devotions, us 4 girls in our room, went outside and milked the goats, ate breakfast (you can guess where I sat! :) By Raquel, yes! :) then I started washing breakfast dishes. I worked at that, and Raquel behind me, brushed my hair and put a PRETTY braid hair-do in. We talked too, during this time. Then we dressed up in the BEAUTIFUL reenactment skirts she brought for just her and me to wear. We had planned this time for a LONG LONG while. We got to go out into the fields and run, laugh, take pictures and just have a WONDERFUL time together talking. Amanda and Emily totally understood Raquel and I doing this together, and I am grateful for such understanding sisters, them knowing that Raquel being so close to me, we would want just a little time to talk alone. When we got back from our refreshing walk, we changed, and lunch was prepared, so we ate as a family, then got to journal a little so it would not take quite as long in the evening. Mom had to take a trip to a small town to pick up some library books for Greg, so during this time, all of us girls looked at old photos and showed her when we were younger. That was fun, then we were inspired to take more pictures. Around 4:00 or so, Raquel wanted to read us some of her published stories, so during that time, I helped Hannah try to knit and we all listened. :) That was fun. Dinner was not too long after, and as we ate, Raquel's Dad told us about his testimony and about how he met his wife! :) That evening, the children went on a walk with the ladies, and us girls stayed inside to wash dishes and milk the goats. That done, I was so excited, Greg very willingly went outside with Raquel, Amanda, Emily, Lydia (Raquel's sister) and I to take some professional pictures with his big camera! :) That was SO much fun. We got some nice pictures of Raquel and I then of all of us girls. I praise the LORD for such a special brother I have that is so willing to help us out and bless us by his talents! Thank you Greg! :) Love you! When we got in after 8:30, the little ones got in bed, and we older ones with the adults sang hymns for a while which was very refreshing. I love to sing praises to the LORD, and what a wonderful way to do it; with special friends. That evening, we got to bed late again, and as the girls below fell asleep again, Raquel and I talked once again until 3:30!!! :) We have a lot in common, and it was refreshing to share our hearts and encourage each other in relationships, purity, encouraging others, and many more things. Thank you LORD for blessing me with a special friend such as Raquel! I am so grateful to You for allowing us to finally meet! You are a gracious and mighty God!
Wednesday: Raquel and her family, after a family breakfast, prayer and then packing, had to leave at 10:00. I was very sad. Raquel and I had a special last day talk, and she thanked me and we hugged, cried :), and then took last pictures together. How special all those moments with a special Daughter of the King were to me. I was so blessed by all the members in her family of 6. We waved until we could no longer see their car, then I got to dishes. :)
I just want to give God all the glory for this special visit for me. He worked all things out for His good, and we all were refreshed and encouraged by another family of believers that have so much in common. It is always neat when the LORD puts together families and the time of building up! Praise the LORD for those blessings!
Thank you for reading and for being such wonderful friends to me. I love you all and may you be blessed! I am excited to add to this blog and may this place be a blessing and give all praise to the LORD for his wondrous works!
Love in Christ,
Dani
I am adding photos in this next blog post! :)
