Today was very fun! :) We went APPLE picking! And, now for some interaction from the readers! How many pounds do you think we got? I'll give the answer once at least 3 of you have commented. :) We went and picked in Garfield. We were picking Liberty and Cortlands... now we have a lot of work on our hands to make applesauce! That will be fun though when we do it... hopefully! :) I will try and post pictures of the apply picking!!!!! :) But... That's what we did today. Well, my whole family made my birthday (3 days ago) very special! I had a friend over, Irie, and we had a LOT of fun together!! But, she really had a desire to spend my 13th birthday with me! So, she came, and we had a photo treasure hunt (which led to a VERY cute little miniature tea set, which I will post pictures of!) and we had a photo contest, and we just talked and laughed, and had a good time. This was my glass birthday - I got a lot of glass things! And my mother made me a beautiful chocolate cake, which I can't eat.... :) So, that's what we have been up to! Thank you family for making my day special! :) Oh, I also got a few phone calls, which was a nice surprise!!! :)
Love you all,
~Emily

Hello Ladies!
As many of you know, Mom and Greg left for Colorado yesterday for a photo design class for Greg! So, Dani, Emily and I have kept busy with laundry, dishes, watching children, animal chores, etc. It has been a great experience!! I am so thankful that Dad is here to help with the little problems that come up with the children!
Last night, we went on a walk through our Grandpa's lentil fields that were just harvested. It was a very fun time! The young ones had a lot of fun picking up lentils and sticking them into Dad's pocket, then running ahead and gathering more!

Starting our walk

Peanut wanted to come along, but she got into some burrs and didn't want to walk, so Dani kindly carried her. :)

Leah picking up lentils

Soon, Hannah, Samuel and Rebekah were just specks up on the hill! They had lots of energy!

The four youngest wanted to run down the hills on the way home

Leah was tired and kept loosing her shoes, so Emily carried her for a while

A picture of me that Em took! :)
I just wanted to share something that is important to me. A couple weeks ago, Dani, Emily and I were going to have a little snack, and I asked Hannah if she wanted one too. She said, "Oh Amanda! Thank you so much for asking me! It makes me feel so special when you include me!" I realized that I am not including the younger ones as much as I should be, and that it really is very important. So, I just wanted to encourage all of you girls that have younger siblings, to include them in a lot of things! It can be hard for me to do that, because I think, "They will slow me down," or other thoughts like that. But it really means something to them!
The Lord bless you,
Amanda

Include the Little Ones!!
Hello, Ladies!
I'm sorry we haven't updated for awhile. As some of you may know, Mom and Greg left for Colorado yesterday! Greg is taking a photo design class down there, and Mom is doing some school planning while she is down there! So, it is quite an adventure for us girls, taking care of the children, cleaning the house, cooking the meals, doing all the laundry, etc. Not that we haven't done these things before, but Mom does a HUGE part of all of this! Thankfully, we have Dad here! It has been wonderful to spend quality time with him!
Last night, we went on a walk through Grandpa's lentil fields, that were just harvested. It was a perfect evening, and we had a lot of fun! The young ones had fun picking up lentils and putting them in Dad's pocket, then running and getting more. :) It was a very nice evening. After the little ones had gone to bed, and Dad decided to take a nap, Dani, Emily, Hannah and I went into our room and Dani read aloud to us one of our favorite books~ Millie Keith!
Anyway, I just wanted to update you all on that, and then I just wanted to share something that I feel is really important. A couple weeks ago, Dani, Emily and I were going to have a small snack, and I asked Hannah if she wanted one too. She said something like, "Oh, Amanda! Thank you so much for asking! It makes me feel so special when you include me!" It was a huge reminder of how important it is to include our little siblings in what we do! They feel special when we include them. I know that sometimes I think how they can get in the way, and that I really don't want them to come along when I am feeding the animals or something like that because they might slow me down. But, really, it is SOOOOO important for us to include our little siblings! They will remember it!
I just thought I would share that...
The Lord bless you all!
Love,
Amanda

It's September 1st!
Hello all!
It is already September 1st... just think... only a few more days until fall! For those of you who like fall, only a few more days, and it will be here! :D Well, we have been busy. On Sunday, we went to a friend's baby shower. I forgot to bring my camera! Nobody else did either! So, we were a little stuck! The baby boy was adorable!!! What a sweet boy he was! I wish we had one tiny one... Leah is getting so big! :D Anyway, Monday, we three older girls went and helped Mrs. Craig (The Craig's are good friends of ours...) out at her house. They just had a wedding in the family, and since the wedding, she hasn't gotten some of the things done she needs to, so we went and helped out at her house for the day! We were all exhausted when we got home! :)
Today, we went to music lessons... we had some singing lessons to go along with that. It has been very nice to sing together, and get some tips. It has been a lot of fun doing that.
But, we haven't been especially busy lately... just normal life... gardening, constant cleaning... everything has been busy!
Oh, but Greg has been taking us up to Spokane where we get our music lessons! Greg is such a good driver! Thank you Greg for taking us! He's a VERY good driver, and fun to ride with! :D We are looking forward to a huckleberry pie tonight! :) Not with our huckleberries, but with some Mrs. Craig had! :)
Love you all!
