Picnic, Painting, Prize and other things... :)

A few events have taken place recently that I thought I would post about. Greg has been busy with a painting job this summer. Grandpa wanted a new coat of paint on one side of his house, so Greg has been scraping paint for awhile, and finally he got to start painting. Dad got up on the roof to help Greg, and then after they got up, Hannah, Samuel and Rebekah went to join them.Painting - YAY!
More painting...

Hannah ~Sam the Man!

On Saturday evening, we went to a Christian Heritage picnic, where families get together, have a picnic (of course!), talk, play games, and fellowship. We met some very neat girls (which we were delighted to find out that we know about their blog!!), and had a wonderful, wonderful time of fellowship.

Oh - also, we practiced music with our bass player on Friday night. We got to play for a music festival in Newport, but we had to have two hours of gospel music to play. So, we had to pull out some old songs and work those up so that we would have enough to play!!

Apparently Peanut was bored of listening... :)
The 4 youngest sing "Do Lord" up on stage sometimes... here they are practicing.
And then there's the real thing!!! :)
A picture of ALMOST the whole band. Daddy usually runs the sound. :)
Skipping back a little, it was a 2 hour drive to get to the festival. Leah had fun though; she got to try on Greg's sunglasses. She is pretty funny. :)We had a nice time at the festival, and we got to see about 4 people that we know - three of which we haven't seen for a while.

After stopping for some lunch, we went to a Grandparent's Day celebration. We were "invited", because Hannah had entered a contest for writing the best essay about "Why Your Grandparent should be the Grandparent of the Year". :D The winner received $100. So, we went to the celebration, and Hannah was one of the winners!!! Congratulations, Hannah!! ♥ She went up and read her essay to the group. :)
As you can see, I think Hannah was a little nervous... :)

CONGRATULATIONS, Hannah!!!

After that, we received some unexpected entertainment....

A One Man Band!!!

I have never seen one before! Have any of you?

I'll end with this picture... :) Our grandma that had cancer rarely has places she wants to go, or things she wants to do, but she wanted to go to the fair this year. So a few of us, along with her caregiver went to the fair. So here's a picture of a few that went.

Blessings to you all.

Special Friends Part 2

We have to finish our story now. We met the dear M. girls several years ago through another friend and blogging. Many letters, emails, and phone calls later, our friendship with these dear sisters has simply blossomed over the years. The LORD has blessed us immensely by their friendship.

So, as you probably remember from a previous blog post, we met the M. girls for the first time at the Christian Heritage Conference, and we had such a grand time together. But it was altogether TOO short a visit, so to our delight, we found out they were coming our way in the summer, and made many plans for their visit.

So, the evening of their arrival, we were enjoying some time with the B. girls and the little children, and as we were playing a game, we heard a knock on the door - the M. family was not to arrive for another few hours, so we were pleasantly surprised when we opened the door to find they had arrived early! :) The excitement began as we welcomed them into our home and sat down to catch up. Our party had grown quite large, and as the parents visited, we all enjoyed a game, then some dessert to follow. Bedtime came all too soon, but to finish up the night, some of us girls took a moon-light walk in the yard (it was short, but special). :)

The next morning, we girls made breakfast for all 3 of our families, and took care of animal chores all together. Cameras were constantly in use, making sure we would forget nothing!! That morning, MaryAnna, Amanda and Dani finished up the surprise cheesecake for Luci's birthday as she and Olivia were spending time with the little ones. She had no idea what we were planning! :) Before going on a walk, we got to try new hair styles, talk, look at pictures and enjoy each other. We girls took a fun walk in the fields before lunch. While eating, we discussed the poses for our pictures. After getting dressed to match, Greg was so sweet to come out and take many many pictures for us. He was a great organizer and pose instructor. :) He is amazing with his photography, and we were blessed to have him as our photographer. It was a very fun and special photo shoot. We came in to prepare Luci's surprise party! :) This is when Amanda took Lu on a short walk as we set the table. She was very surprised when she walked in and saw every thing. It was a special afternoon. That evening, we enjoyed fellowship with our Bible study group and were refreshed by singing hymns, reading God's Word and praying. That night, we stayed up late again to talk before the M. family had to leave.

The next morning was short- the M. family left around 10:00, but we were able to do a few special things before they left. The parting was sad, but LORD-willing, we will meet again soon. We love you girls!!!!

The B. family was able to stay with us until the following Monday and we had a wonderful time with them and made very special memories! We love you girls!!!

We wanted to share some pictures from the amazing photo shoot Greg did for us! Enjoy.

The LORD bless you all!
