Whiter Than Snow

This morning, we got the first snow of the season! However, after two years in a row of 5-6 feet of snow and it not going away till April, none of us were too thrilled. :)

Thinking of snow reminded me of a verse I read in my devotions this morning: "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool."

This is a favorite hymn of Dani's:

Whiter Than Snow

Lord Jesus, I long to be perfectly whole;
I want Thee forever to live in my soul.
Break down every idol, cast out every foe;
Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

Refrain

Whiter than snow, yes, whiter than snow.
Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

Lord Jesus, let nothing unholy remain,
Apply Thine own blood and extract ev’ry stain;
To get this blest cleansing, I all things forego—
Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

Refrain

Lord Jesus, look down from Thy throne in the skies,
And help me to make a complete sacrifice.
I give up myself, and whatever I know,
Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

Refrain

Lord Jesus, for this I most humbly entreat,
I wait, blessèd Lord, at Thy crucified feet.
By faith, for my cleansing, I see Thy blood flow,
Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

Refrain

Lord Jesus, Thou seest I patiently wait,
Come now, and within me a new heart create;
To those who have sought Thee, Thou never saidst “No,”
Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

Refrain

The blessing by faith, I receive from above;
O glory! my soul is made perfect in love;
My prayer has prevailed, and this moment I know,
The blood is applied, I am whiter than snow.

Refrain

Blessings to you all,

Amanda

  1. Hey Amanda! It's sort of fun to hear what kind of weather everyone else is getting. It's cold here, but it's still rainy. I am not so excited for snow either...maybe a little, because it is fun to play in. Do you usually get quite a few feet of snow? Or not? Hope you're doing good, and I am still working on your letter! You got my e-mail, right?

  3. Hello dear Amanda! :)

    The weather here is cold...it has that wintry-feeling in it! We might get snow any day now. As you might know, I don't do too well in the snow. I tend to get cold very fast, so snow doesn't hold as much delight for me - playing-wise :) - but looking at it from inside a warm home with a good book and a hot mug of tea suits me a lot better! :)
    Hope you are doing well, dear. Stay warm!
    Say hello to everyone!
    Love,
    ~Raquel

    Amanda

    Raquel,
    Thank you for the nice note! :)I didn't know you don't do well in the snow. I'm sorry! :( I agree... I prefer the indoors with a good book and a hot drink. :) I will try to stay warm- actually today, it was warmer, which was really nice!
    I hope you are doing well too!
    Love,
    Amanda
