May-June Update

We have not been very diligent to keep up on our blog here. :( We are sorry for the delay - the LORD has blessed us this last month (as He is always faithful to do) and we have had sweet fellowship and many skills were learned.

As Hannah said in the last little post, we had our does give birth to kids this month which was exciting to see God's beautiful plan in birth and life. We were able to be present at 3 of the 4 births! We now have 10 new little kids running around on the farm, all enjoying the company of each other. We were specifically praying for Coneja, our Nubian goat who has had trouble kidding the last 2 years, so there were several people praying for her. And my Grandma's caregiver next door really wanted to see the birth, so after her hours were done next door, we invited her over to dinner (which I think she enjoyed - she said she hadn't had a family dinner in a long time, and she got lots of family time with us all! :) It was a lot of fun. We also taught her a game, then as we went out to check on Coneja (we knew she was close, and kept thinking it was going to be any time... but she kept delaying). Our friend said she could stay until about 7:30, so at that time, we took one more look at Coneja - and this time she really was showing signs. :) So we all settled in to watch :)... we sat... and sat... talked and sat... and as it was getting dark, Greg set up some light for us out there. We put on coats and warmer clothes, and kept waiting. We had to take a break and go in for hot chocolate because it was getting chilly. But we kept up the watch, and our friend stayed with us the whole time to see Coneja finally give birth at 11:15!!! She had triplets, 2 females, 1 male, and Grandma's caregiver said it was worth the wait to see the birth. Coneja did so well and the LORD was over it all - the kids came out very smoothly and we barely had to do anything! It was a huge praise.

We have also been busy with a few music engagements, trying to get our garden in during this rainy cold spring, keeping up with school, doing some cleaning projects, enjoyed a Hymn-Sing earlier, music lessons, etc. It is such a blessing to be in this season of life with my family as relationships are grown in each activity we do together. The LORD is so good.

That reminds me of a verse I read the other day.

"I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me: That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else." (Isaiah 45:5-6)

Also, yesterday I was getting thinking about what I could study in the Word that morning, and I wanted to do a word search for verses that talked about abiding in Christ or fearing God. I couldn't decide, and just chose abiding. So as I was reading and recording, I found this verse that really excited me and showed me that God connects it all together! Each principle and character of God flows together. His Word is so orderly and perfect... it thrilled me!

"The fear of the LORD tendeth to life, and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil." (Proverbs 19:23)

So those are some of the things the LORD has been teaching me! It has been so neat to grow and learn from the feet of Jesus. We must always be seeking to hear from our Redeemer. He always has something new to show us!

I wanted to share some pictures with you all. I hope you enjoy them!

We had a magnificent rainbow the other day where we could see the whole arch! Usually we only see half or part of it, but this was a beautiful reminder of God's promise to us!

After we attended a sweet wedding on Saturday, the children came home and thought it would be fun to play wedding too! :) (Bekah wasn't looking, but in the other picture we got, Leah wasn't smiling, so we chose the smiling one!)
This is one of Ladybug's boys. He is a sweetie!
Firecracker was the only one who had a light-colored kid. Leah named him (on the left) Joseph! The other two girls are Ober's.
The wedding we attended on Saturday. I loved how modest her wedding dress was! Refreshing!
This is one view of our hymn sing we held in our home. Greg is an amazing pianist! Also, Dad had to work until 7:00 or around there, so our friend, Mr. H. kindly led us in singing, prayer and sharing.
Emily tried her skilled hand at a lemon-flavored pound cake! It was a hit! Emily is so talented in many ways!
While we worked in the garden (below), Peanut was exploring out with us (she hadn't had the privileged to be off the leash until this last year. I think she loves it!)
The two favored cats (they get to be indoors too) enjoyed watching us work in the garden!
Hannah, helping roll tires to plant our potatoes in. It was windy!
Leah even got to roll some tires! The children were such a good help.
What a hard worker!
Bekah also enjoyed helping plant the peas and dig some of her own creations! :)
All of us children and Mom working in the garden (Em took the picture).
Another one of Emily's fabulous creations! This cake was SO rich and DELICIOUS!!!
We girls and Mom decided to be pioneer women as our men were busy with many other projects! So we got out the fence-building materials and set to work. It was actually very fun! :)
Greg came out to check on us when we were almost done! :)

Oh yes, and Sam was thrilled that Daddy let him drive the lawn mower!! :) That was very exciting!
May the LORD bless you all as you spend time in His Word and continue in His work!

Blessings,
~Dani
