"What's been keeping you so busy?"

Yes! What has been keeping us so busy as to not post for "so long"? :) What could we possibly be up to? You probably weren't asking yourselves these questions, simply because it's a regular practice for us to not post too often. :) But just in case you were wondering, we've been doing a lot of yard/around the outside of the house work. And it has been a big project. Yes indeed! Although you can't see before and after pictures, I will show you "after" pictures. :)

Those two black spots? One of them is a black trashbag full of grass clippings, and the other is Shredder being ridiculous. :)
The back flower garden. I worked out here for a couple days and ended up digging out a couple of ground covers or something that had been overtaken by the grass. It was a big project. Lots of roots involved. :)
We moved our goats up into a pen so that they could eat down our grass instead of us mowing it. That way, they can have some fresh pasture.
This looks a little gross, I know (!), but it is a HUGE improvement. You know how the grass can get into those cracks in the concrete? Well, that's very un-natural looking (in a way!), so we decided to take it out. Now, are you ready to hear what our method was? Dani was very clever (she thought of it... so blame her!!! :). She got an axe out and started chopping away at it. :) And it worked! Is there nothing an axe cannot do? ;)
This is a HUGE, HUGE improvement. A few years ago, we put bark over it and planted a tree there... but for some reason, we destroyed it, and grass started growing there. Our soil here is quite hard and "clay-ey". :( So it was very hard to get the grass out, and it would take some strong determination to do anything with it. So finally, we decided to do something. We covered it with wood chips, and now? It looks beautiful!
This is the back. The pots you see on the concrete have grape cuttings in them. And guess what? They're budding! That's SO exciting for us, especially since we had to perform major surgery on them. :) (No... that's not totally true. I'm partially kidding :]) And that was even MORE exciting to see that they could grow! YAY!!!

So... this and a couple other things - company and cleaning (don't those two things go together pretty well? :) - have been keeping us busy.

Have a blessed day!
~Emily
