But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. ~1 John 1:7
How can we describe such a wonderful weekend in just a few words? We were incredibly blessed by the Christian Heritage Conference this last weekend. It is truly one of the biggest highlights of our year!
Among the many encouraging sessions we attended, we were challenged in many ways. It was incredible to hear Dr. Voddie Baucham in person. His passion for the LORD and home discipleship was inspiring. We enjoyed all of his presentations throughout the weekend.
In one workshop, the speaker taught on submission to our parents. We are to seek and incline after their wisdom as it teaches in Proverbs 2.
During another session, we were encouraged as sisters to build up our siblings by praising them, being a good example to them in supporting our parents' decisions, and using our time wisely while we are still at home.
There was so much more - we were challenged to not be continually looking to the future for fulfilling God's call on our lives, but rather view today as our ministry and give ourselves fully to Him and what He has for us now.
Singing in the chorale was incredible! The conductor (our beloved piano teacher :) did a marvelous job of working with 200+ young people in bringing together 4 beautiful pieces of music in only 4 short sessions! This was definitely a highlight of the weekend. We had a wonderful time getting to know some special young ladies there and enjoying fellowship with old dear friends as well.
It was pouring rain almost throughout the 6 hour trip! Dad is a wonderful driver.
There were so many people to catch up with. Thursday night was a great opportunity to do so.

We were so blessed to spend an extended amount of time with these dear friends who have encouraged us in many ways. (Leah kindly offered to take our picture)
Our friends' adorable baby
Thursday night, when things were still relatively quiet.
A chorale session. One of our biggest highlights of the weekend was making a new friend, a dear sweet young lady who sat between us during each practice. We had a lot of fun and made many special memories
Mr. C. did an excellent job bringing all our voices together to blend in harmony to the LORD.
This is just a taste of how busy it was! So many people are blessed by this conference.
This session was so full, many had to stand outside in the hall to listen.
Another chorale practice. Wonderful memories.
We loved seeing our dear friends again this year. The time was much too short.
We got to meet up with another friend whom we enjoyed visiting with.
Our annual picture in our chorale outfits.
We were certainly blessed in many ways and we thank God for the incredible opportunity to attend with our whole family! We would encourage everyone to attend next year! It is worth the trip!
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. ~James 1:17
Thank you so much for the pictures, girls! I really wish that I could have been there, but maybe next, right!?! ;) It looks like a LOT of people attended. And thank you for the verses and encouragement. It sounds like the sessions and workshops were very good!

What good memories! :) This was such a wonderful and encouraging conference.
ReplyDeleteI met Dani and wanted to meet the rest of you, but ran out of time... :( I wish it didn't have to be so short!
Thanks for posting pictures! Lord willing, next year I will be able to meet the rest of you!
God bless,
~Bethany Strang
I highly recomend everyone attend next year! :) I had a wonderful time at the conference, and I really enjoyed singing in the Chorale. And I agree with Bethany that the time was so short!
ReplyDeleteI came away from the conference encouraged and convicted. I have so far to go to become more like Christ, but it is possible! Just keep pressing into God and crying out for help daily. HE is faithful.
