~Another big event that took place last month! (:D) We hosted a Future Christian Homemakers class for girls ages 7-12 where we get together and practice some different homemaking skills. Last month was our first time doing it, so it something quite new! :)Here we started out reading about eggs - and how they need to be cooked thoroughly. Reading... :)
In that class, we covered how to make french toast, scrambled eggs, and egg salad. We also went over how to separate and beat eggs, how to safely use the oven, etc. Beating eggs for french toast
At the oven, making our french toast and scrambled eggs
We each wanted to get a picture with our partners and the finished product!
Five girls attended this class. For each of the projects that we did, we split up and had partners, so since it couldn't all be even, Amanda had 1 partner, and Dani and I had 2.
My two partners! ;)
Dani didn't get a picture with both of her partners in it, but she did get a picture with each partner.
And we explained clean-up, and why that is important! :) Here we are washing and drying dishes.
Then Dani read a devotional from the book Noble Girlhood about becoming a daughter of victory. Then we gave them a verse to memorize for the month:
1 Corinthians 15:57-58 ~But thanks be to God which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
Here we are, writing out our verses on a 3x5 card
We had tea while Dani read the devotional.
Then I read a section out of Journeys of Faithfulness, about Mary of Bethany.
Since not all the girls knew each other, we had a little time of sharing about ourselves (our names, ages, and what we like to do) to help the girls to get to know each other a little better! And then we ended in prayer. All in all, it was a good experience to help encourage girls to stay on the right track!
Wow! Looks like you all had a lovely time! Wish I could've been there...
